Generation Jones : If you were born between 1954 and 1965, ask yourself this question: "Do I feel like a member of The Baby Boom Generation, Generation X, or neither?" Does this seem to you like splitting the hair too finely? Or do you think they've got something here?

..and does it matter? Does the compulsive urge to label everything do more damage than good?

Just full of question tonight, aren't I?

Yet another unwanted label, defined by somebody else, applied by somebody else, that I have to scrape off...

(Labels are worthwhile if they are useful. It's good to have labels for salt and sugar so we don't mix them up.)

I was born in 1965 (the tail end of socalled Gen Jones). I have never identified with the Xers or the Boomers. So I had a shock of recognition when I saw this link. My wife, born just a few years later (in 68) seems much more like an Xer to me.

Born in '62, I've always been behind boomers and ahead of Xers. I've been aware of this for a long time, but I haven't let it define my life -- or built a website about it.

Well that tears it! My 4 siblings and I (all born between 1957 and 1965) are no longer part of the hidden anonymous masses. Is someone going to expect something from us now?

I was born in 1964, and I've always felt like we're between the boomers and the Xers, not that it matters.

And that's the ugliest web site I've seen in a while.
