Please mash this up with Ol' Dirty Bastard as soon as possible. Thanks, Internet.

I'll take it. Sometimes saccharine is the only remedy for bitterness.

Yes, yes, I'm with you. Okay.

If we help other people,
the world would be more peaceful.

Yes, we should all be friends and help each other!

If we love each other,
we will have a much more better world.

Yes! Exactly! Go, cute Japanese girls, go!

Let's nyoki nyoki together with us!
Please give me your smile with nyoki nyoki!

Um, okay. Can we just be friends and make a better world, or do I have to do the nyoki nyoki thing? Because I'm not entirely clear on how that helps.

Now if it was "nookie nookie" I'd be all over it.

This is some truly sad.

I would not be all over the nookie nookie were it carried out in that tone of voice.

I'm with Sys Rq, I get about that psyched over freshly homemade gnocchi. And I can see the peace thing because if I ate gnocchi every day I would only be able to waddle not fight.

Why is there a Marshall stack behind them? I am so confused.

Huh. Weird. Not what I was expecting at all.

Which one was Emperor Akahito?

Bubbly, like Mentos.

This is embarrassing. In my earlier comment, I meant to quote a totally different part of the video.

Friggin Mentos.

I'm guessing it's too soon to post what I just wrote and deleted, but can I just note that the cracks about France not fighting are a bit tiresome?

Well, I have no idea what that was.

But speaking of total non-sequiturs, YouTube saw fit to consider a gem of a video called 'thigh massage' (which has been viewed a cool 172,573,583 times) to be somehow related. I consider myself offputtingly enriched.

Jesus, why is everyone in here so bitter? It's an adorable video of Japanese people who want peace for the world, and have come up with a fun and silly way to spread that message. I know, let's crack jokes and play the lol wut card!

Come on, I've seen more mature reactions on 4chan. You're better than this, MeFi.

That mentos+coke video has been viewed 160 million times. Probably because she looks naked in the thumbnail.

Jesus, why is everyone in here so bitter?

Well, for my part, I found myself wondering if the singers were actually, you know, still alive ...

Many of those Nyoki-responses were not really trying. I feel that, if the world achieves peace, it will not be through the half-hearted efforts of people like this. Either Nyoki Nyoki with all your heart or step aside. That's what I think.

You will, or we will say 'nyoki nyoki!' again...!

I won't, and you can't make me.

I know, I know... I hate myself that my mind went straight there (to a song/band I despise) upon seeing the nyoki/gnocchi exchange.

The blame rests squarely on the shoulders of Randy and Jason Sklar, from one of their awesome "Cheap Seats" shows on ESPN Classic several years ago, mocking footage from an old Scripps-Howard spelling bee. Stuck in my head forever.

Jesus, why is everyone in here so bitter?
Over 60 years of an international organization devoted to the peaceful resolution of disputes between peoples and countries using a democratic forum failing miserably.
