April Derleth has passed away

April Derleth, daughter of August Derleth (co-founder with Donald Wandrei of Arkham Press) passed away on March 21, 2011.
This post was deleted for the following reason: Sad news for sure, but without some more meat to this there's not a whole lot to go on here for anyone who isn't already specifically familiar with her. If someone wants to do a post that does a better job of fleshing things out, that'd be fine. -- cortex
i dunno, '.' and all, and I'm a big HPL fan, but this is kind of like 2 degrees removed from someone notable and kind of thin for a fpp...

She was the president and CEO of Arkham Press. Therefore, a figurehead in the field of Weird Fiction.

Arkham helped popularize H.P. Lovecraft and his contemporaries, but I'm with empath in saying this seems kind of thin.

I am not trying to be insensitive but I'm not familiar with this particular press or this family, was she significant in that particular business/field? Are there certain authors she helped put on the map or anything like that?

I'm familiar with authors who write Weird Fiction but I've not once heard her name referenced.
