Somebody stole the Oscars (TM AMPAS)!
And, of course, I am denying all involvement.

That's hilarious. I wonder if this is being done by South Park Groupies that want to make sure that "Blame Canada" is a shoe in.

I've heard they're searching Jim Carrey's house.

IN OTHER OSCAR (TM AMPAS) NEWS, I have noted with some dismay, the Hollywood Stock Exchange (which is currently the most STABLE stock index out there) is doing an Oscar (TM AMPAS - I'm getting tired of this) promotion and calling it O2K. Now, not only is it absolutely NOTCOOL to be the LAST to use a "Y2K"-based pun, but "O2K" is probably a copyright violation of MY OXY2K, which I really should put a link back on my home page to... In fact, I think I have a patent lying somewhere around here that applies...

Regarding "Blame Canada", they've decided to let Robin Williams perform it. What they're going to do about the dirty words is apparently a closely guarded secret. Given that it's Robin Williams, I bet they are planning to have him make odd sounds (effectively bleeping himself) when he encounters them.

But given that it's Robin Williams, I think there's an even chance that he'll cross them up and sing the song straight. I hope the guy on the bleep key is awake.

You better believe they're gonna buy out the nearest Starbucks to make sure the guy on the bleep key is awake. And everybody working the broadcast is going to have a copy of the lyric sheet, including a LAPD SWAT-sniper in the balcony. If there's going to be an Obscene Oscar (TM AMPAS - they make me say this) Moment during this broadcast, it WON'T be during this song. Remember, this is the awards show that twenty-x years ago got perfect camera shots of the David Niven Streaker ABOVE the waist. I still have conspiracy theories about that.
