Is it too soon to see the brighter side?I'm torn. The words of the tragedy have turned from "The horror" to "let's kill the gays" in less than three days. But at the same time, I know there's a brighter side. Crisis brings (generally) the best out of Americans (if not the world). We will rebuild, re-design, re-shape our world. After WWII, America had a huge upsing economically and socially. People remembered to be happy to be alive, had kids, made families, partied like Hugh Hefner, and created one of the most amazing periods in our history. The same will happen again: unimaginable horror, work, then prosperity. But this only happens is these idiots don't screw it up. Your thoughts?

It's not like the idiotic sentiments espoused by Falwell are the "voice of the nation". You might be getting carried away...

Jerry seems to have this all wrong. He fails to see that this event (as well as countless other atrocities) was ultimately caused by organized religion.

We have had just one day of violence. World War II lasted six years, killed 61 million people (including 295,000 Americans), and ended with a nuclear attack. Don't start celebrating the next great age just yet, rev.

I am shocked. I don't know why I'm shocked. This is what Robertson and Falwell do. Remember Falwell's strange obsession with the Teletubbies? Religion has always been used as a stick to beat up people. This horrible thing that happened on Tuesday had nothing to do with God. It was done by man in His name.
