The movie "Inception" Ripped-Off Scrooge McDuck & The Beagle Boys? In the original comic which resembles the Inception plot, Scrooge McDuck’s totem is a 25-pound bar of solid gold. The Beagle Boys use a device to invade Scrooge's dreams, in hope of extracting the code to his gold vault, and his limbo is an endless desert where each grain of sand is actually a microscopic gold coin. In my wild English grad student days, I took a course that focused on Carl Barks, the man who invented Scrooge McDuck and fleshed out Duckberg. Fascinating ideas, plot structures and even scientific (patentable!) inventions cropped up in his comics all the time...I'd bet this excerpt is from one of his books. Crazy genius, that guy!
