There's a new post over at Hyperbole and a Half (previously featured once, or twice, or more), featuring a wild adventure for reader favorite Simple Dog! (Simple Dog also previously.

YES.

Simple Dog is now the nickname for Norma, the more special of our two cats.

Every day is an adventure for her, too.

I wonder what Roger Ebert thinks about Simple Dog?

:( I had already read The Latest Adventures of Simple Dog and I got all excited about the potential of two HAAH posts in a week. My wife actually thinks Simple Dog might be related to our dog, they are so similar.

The drawings from the dog's perspective made me laugh so hard I could barely breathe.

I keep thinking to myself that no dog can be this unintelligent, that this is just made up stuff for the blog/comic. But it's so freakin' hilarious that I'm not going to worry about it and just enjoy it for what it is.

Her writing is starting to remind me of Dave Barry. I'll let the individual reader decide if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Is this a web comic?

Sometimes I wonder if my wife writes these simple dog stories since Einstein (our "Simple Dog", ironic name provided by previous owner) does a lot of similar stuff.

Then I forward her the links and hear her laughing for 45 minutes. We Are Not Alone!

I knew a dog that made Simple Dog look like Einstein by comparison, a collie inbred to the point where her eyes just about united in a gaze of cyclopean stupidity. She would walk by the couch and the loveseat, then get stuck in a corner. Only there was about a three foot gap she could walk right out of. Not squeeze through. Walk right out of.

Stuck. For hours. They would come home to find the dog stuck in the corner. Whining softly every so often.

Her owners eventually had to just wedge the two items of furniture together to prevent this.

Also, the dog was named Baby. She puts herself in the corner.

Thankfully, I have a monkey that flings feces every time he feels the need to take a shit on something.

I found this one to be rather bittersweet, actually. Poor simple dog.

Am confused by post and subsequent poo-flinging. Why happening? I'm a dog. SHAPES.

I agree with Sticherbeast. I always have this sense that if an animal runs away, it's unhappy with its situation. A happy animal will come back to you. My cats have always been outdoor cats, and every time I see an indoor cat trying desperately to get out, I just can't help but seeing them as prisoners.

Of course, I've never owned a dog or an indoor cat, so I might not know what I'm talking about.
