I came to this thread looking for an interview conducted by David Howell Evans. And I was sorely disappointed.

I had never heard of Cow Clicker. I must say, I like Ian Bogost very much.

When Bogost finally crafted the cow, he made it so that you couldn’t buy it with accumulated clicks. Instead, you had to spend real money. And the players hated him for it.

Somehow, I don't think irony was what he had in mind there.

Next we discover that there are prisons in China full of people playing Cow Clicker, and the world will ironimplode.

That's one hell of a goatee.

I paid $1 for the iPhone version of Cow Clicker mostly so I could unlock the Dogcow. Well that, and I wanted to support Ian's most successful project he's ever had. I imagnie it's an uncomfortable kind of success for him, I admire him for sticking with it and seeing it through. I sure hope Zynga gives him a little Friends & Family love come IPO time.

In a Game Set Watch interview, Ian clamied it was entirely a coincidence that the Cow Clicker currency "Mooney" happens to share a name with Zynga's VP, Bill Mooney.

I posted this to FB as a joke, and one of my FB friends (who I swear spends his entire day playing repetitive FB games) has now installed himself and has started playing it... unironically.
