The Shadows ProjectIn 1988, a group of artists painted shadow outlines of people in public places reminiscent of those created when people were disintegrated by the bomb in Hiroshima. Is it time to resurrect this project, to remind people of the price of nuclear weapons?

I'm not sure that I understand your point...nuclear weapons are heinous, no question, but are you suggesting that disintegrated people are somehow worse than splattered people?

I don't think we need reminders of the "price" of nuclear weapons; seriously doubt that there is anyone who thinks that they are anything but horrific.

rushmc: I think christina was saying that with all this talk of war amongst countries that have or may have nuclear weapons, it might be timely to remind people that using 'nukes' is not the answer. Personally, in the current international climate, I think any sort of reminder of the horrors of war are quite appropriate.

I haven't seen anyone suggesting nukes, so I don't see what the problem is. There isn't any indication that we can't solve this problem by conventional methods. Of course, S Asia is a nuke-soaked place (India, Pakistan, China, and Russia all have the bomb) that is a reason why we have to move carefully.
