yank up as a vital obituary

Prominent rapper Tupac has been found alive and well in a small resort in New Zealand, locals report. The small town - unnamed due to security risks - allegedly housed Tupac and Biggie Smalls (another rapper) for several years. One local, David File, recently passed away, leaving evidence and reports of Tupac's visit in a diary, which he requested be shipped to his family in the United States.

When did PBS start carrying 'News of the Weird' stories?

Like Biggie said, "It's the ones that smoke blunts with ya, take ya picture, now they wanna grab their guns and come and get ya."

...living with Elvis, but they had to move out when that Michael Jackson fellow showed up, he's too weird.

This says PBS was hacked. Pretty hilariously, apparently.

PBS, the most trusted name in news. They wouldn't print it if it wasn't true!

How do we know it wasn't SC Magazine that was hacked, in order to hide the real truth about Tupac. Wake up, sheeple!

I would like to meet the man or woman who hacked PBS and decided that the best use of this situation was to make people think Tupac was still alive.

Wow. The lulzsec twitter feed shows they got into PBS's databases and the Frontline and station accounts.

And http://www.pbs.org/lulz has this on it right now.

Perhaps this is a try again when we actually know whats going on? Because I'm sure this is interesting, and we'll probably know how in the next 24 hours

I say we live blog every moment of our lives and online experiences in this thread between now and when we know what's really going on.

Isn't that what this thread is for at this point?

When a computer security consultant posts a link to a strange story on PBS.com. You gotta guess something is up.

Given a choice between a world where Tupac & Biggie could really be alive & hiding out in New Zealand & one where some Aussie hackers found a hole in PBS's website, I know which one I prefer. Can't you say it was just a little bit of a thrill to consider the possibility it was true?

This is what can happen when unpaid interns are running the world on a holiday weekend. Tupac's cover gets blown.

I have no idea what the "yank up" line is about. To be honest I didn't even have confirmation that the story was a hoax when I posted it, although I certainly did suspect it. It just seemed such a magic story that I had to share it as-is & see where it led.

On a more serious note it looks like PBS was owned hard. For obvious reasons I won't link to it but lulzsec's posted the keys to most of their infrastructure.

One time, I saw Tupac drinking a pina colada at Trader Vic's.

His hair was PERFECT.
