The BBC Springwatch webcams are four live webcams showing herons, nesting pied flycatchers, a buzzard, and a barn owl.

My favorite spring ever remains the one I experienced as a kid, in England. Woke up one morning and there were snowdrops everywhere; we went to visit a friend in Boar's Hill and their garden was covered in bluebells. Those are the two things that leap to mind first when I think of spring.

The first part of this sentence had me thinking that there were four live webcams continually following Bruce Springsteen. Disappointed.

It turns out that they rotate the cams, so they show birds other than those I first listed.

Last I heard, Bill Oddie's a bit better. I seem to recall him doing an interview with Graeme Garden and Tim Brooke-Taylor not too long ago and he said he was doing okay. They were even gently joking about his depression.

My favourite Springwatch thing was Chris Packham's game of getting Smiths song references in wherever possible. Collected here for your enjoyment.

Ynys Las is just up the coast from us. Lovely place.

That oystercatcher is freaking me out.

Interesting peepshow.

One has to crank up the volume to get some sounds, although it's disturbing to hear scraps of human voices in the background.
