I really liked Forgiveness Rock Record.

I'm ambivalent about this video. Warning to the squeamish- there will be blood.

Bonus: the album streaming (on MySpace, it's one redeeming feature as of late).

I love BSS. But none of their videos work.

Unless you count Half Nelson.

I might like this better if the actress could act (without looking incredibly self-conscious), and a bit more imagination had gone into the use of imagery (girl wears white dress = innocence, but what's this? She's doing something bad and splattering her 'white' dress with blood? etc etc).

The rubber arms were a bit rubbish.

I was all ready to hate this because they've got the hump to get over of being an Canadian indie band with about 36 members who have a stupid name who call their records arch knowing things like 'Forgiveness Rock Record' (!) but actually that song sounded quite good.

I saw their first US club show, and it was so good that I'm still kind of baffled that they they only had the one good album in them.

You know what I hate?

Those stupid fucking stemless wine glasses. Why do I want greasy fingerprints all over the bowl? The video was crap too.

The actress is Bijou Philips, I believe.

Yeah, this needs an NSFW tag.

If you are intrigued by BSS, don't overlook their (far superior IMO) labelmates The Most Serene Republic.

Heh 'The Most Serene Republic' that's funny

IMO, the song is awesome, but this video is out of order. I don't get it. Super violent......for what?

(I also kind of thought it was "I thought you were the sweetest cat" before I saw this.)

WOW. A Broken Social Scene song I actually liked.

Huh.

She probably has to hold the rubber prop axe that way so it doesn't flop over and wreck the illusion.
You see that on (e.g.) Buffy a lot.

That's a great BSS tune. Shame about the heavy handed video.

My favourite song from the album (no video unfortunately).

This isn't an official video or anything but it's my favorite.

This is an official alternate video from some other band with Leonard Nimoy in it.

I've never found anything really interesting about BSS and this video won't change that at all.
