Seeing Andre Royo do Bubbles with a poor script and worse directing really kind of pulls the veil back a little on that character in a way that I could have done without. posted by FeralHat at 12:59 AM on June 15, 2011 [5 favorites]
Yes, it makes the mistake of forcing us to consider the role of directing, writing, and editing in the process of bringing a character to life. posted by ShutterBun at 1:08 AM on June 15, 2011

Yeah, he didn't seem to really be into it, and it just seemed like "hey, he was that guy" kind of casting. If anyone from the Wire deserved repeated castings in different and interesting roles, it's Andre Royo. Has he been on anything since? I've seen other cast members pretty much everywhere (Treme, Boardwalk Empire, Breaking Bad, even Carcetti is in Game of Thrones). Where's Royo's next big role? posted by Ghidorah at 5:30 AM on June 15, 2011
I only know one of these Bubbles and I prefer to think of him as rehabilitated.

If this isn't the Powerpuff girl and Michael Jackson's monkey in a Dial M for Monkey suit, someone's getting a throatpunching. posted by Eideteker at 11:03 AM on June 15, 2011 [1 favorite]
