Not art, illustration.

End result is paramount, not the medium or ground. And these are pretty crap - one step removed from an online ascii generator.

Still, it'll be hugely popular as it mixes two essential ingredients - surprising levels of human endeavor and alluring vintage technology.

fire&wings, I'd say "craft", but the base idea is the same. Really nice craftsmanship. Not art.
