So, we've only been waiting on Swift and Changeable since, what, 2006? I just assumed they had to abandon it because of DANGEROUSLY CRITICAL LEVELS OF AWESOMENESS. posted by Rangeboy at 10:25 AM on July 11, 2011 [1 favorite]
Does not do what it says on the tin, insofar as you also assumed "Ghost x DOOM project" referred to a DoD experiment to power a giant laser using Hitler, or something similar. posted by eugenen at 10:28 AM on July 11, 2011
i was expecting way more of that track than a recycled beat that Blackalicious already used. maybe some hotness like The Mask. posted by Mach5 at 10:30 AM on July 11, 2011
In related Tony Stark news: GhostFunk "pairs one of my favorite hip-hop artists, Wu-Tang member Ghostface Killah, with vintage African funk, high-life, and psychedelic rock music." Why do these mashups always have the best album art? posted by 2bucksplus at 10:30 AM on July 11, 2011 [1 favorite]

Not able to listen while at work--is it the same thing exactly? That would be disappointing. But if it's just the same sample, generally speaking I enjoy Madlib's dusty and dirty takes on samples that have been used previously. posted by Hoopo at 10:41 AM on July 11, 2011
Oh this is something I am now looking right the hell forward to.
..and I'm glad there will be a cassette, as I prefer their warmer, fuller sound. posted by griphus at 10:45 AM on July 11, 2011
Ghost has used a number of DOOM beats in recent years. There were four on "Fishscale" and two more on "More Fish". No, there's not a whole album of Iron Man vs. DOOM but there's plenty of collaboration between them out there. posted by chrchr at 10:49 AM on July 11, 2011
So this has nothing to do with computer games, then? posted by JHarris at 10:50 AM on July 11, 2011 [3 favorites]
JHarris, I came in to mention how the alien mod (wad) for doom scared the crap outta me, and was curious about this one.. posted by k5.user at 11:34 AM on July 11, 2011
Yeah, right, and The Avalanches are supposedly going to finally release that second album too. posted by Lentrohamsanin at 12:21 PM on July 11, 2011 [2 favorites]
Lentrohamsanin, the album is finished but they're having trouble securing the rights to the 10^7 samples they use on track six. posted by griphus at 12:53 PM on July 11, 2011 [2 favorites]
There was never any doubt that the project existed (I've got this issue of Mass Appeal sitting on a bookshelf somewhere). The track Angelz off of Born Like This was part of Swift and Changeable. You can listen to the original version here. Doom and Ghost also did a track together for GTA: Chinatown Wars. posted by joedan at 1:10 PM on July 11, 2011
