I was going to post "OMG it's a full double rainbow all the way" but then realized it would be the exact same conversation in the YouTube thread and felt that MeFi is better than YouTube comments so I had to frame it in some sort of cynical/ironical comment. posted by stbalbach at 11:34 AM on July 19, 2011 [2 favorites]

I'm thinking that if that woman has a pet it should hide. Also possibly her children.
I don't know why, but this filled my head with the image of rainbow ink-streaked children huddling in a dark corner in a cellar. The door at the top of the stairs flies open to reveal the profile of the woman's sinister figure... holding a sponge. posted by mdaugherty82 at 1:20 PM on July 19, 2011 [2 favorites]

They should combine her with Sue Johanson. God I hated Sue's show. Most of her stuff was wrong. We tuned out when she said that there was no such thing as a prolapsed rectum or vagina.

Am I a bad person for imagining her in bed with Mr. Rogers?
I am suddenly thankful for my parents' interior decorating choices in the mid-to-late 80's. Several rooms in our house were "sponged," that is various sponges were cut into different geometric shapes (tree, circle, mushroom) and stamped ad infinitum on the wall. The color choices, as I recall, were teal and magenta on cream. Hideous, but they did not induce seasickness. Also, I think each room took less than 10 hours to "paint." posted by obscurator at 2:47 PM on July 19, 2011

I searched and searched aimlessly, but finally found her name. (I'll admit it, mainly just because I really want to make some wiggles.) The woman in the video is Dee Gruenig. Okay, I sent a message to Dee via her husband Warren requesting to interview her (it didn't occur to me until later on that I might be the one actually breaking the news to them about the video). Anyhow days went by and it looked like I wasn't going to hear back, but then this morning, I got the following message from him:
"Wow, did someone have fun scrambling up parts of Dee's videos and web site postings.
She was upbeat when she worked and it sold a lot of products but not THAT upbeat. I believe you would do a professional job... but we both must turn the invitation down." posted by hermitosis at 6:17 AM on July 27, 2011 [1 favorite]
