I was compelled to waste a half hour getting a library of congress card when visiting Washington DC despite the fact that I'll probably never use it.

You mean a reading room card? To use the reading rooms as a researcher? Because the only room that requires you to have a card just to walk in is the main reading room, and if it's just a look-see that you want, there's the gallery upstairs.

Although I love the interior of the Jefferson Building, something about its exterior always made me vaguely uncomfortable.

I'm going to be in DC next month with the kids and we are going here. So it's nice to get a preview....except...where do I click to make the video happen?
