This post was deleted for the following reason: not a lot of there there with this one. Make a real post about it if it's a big deal, otherwise the ZOMG framing and the single only-suggestive post aren't really doing it for me or for anyone. -- jessamyn

Don't we already know that?

Ok I read this and the only thing it confirms is that SmarTech HAD THE CAPABILITY. It doesn't offer proof they actually did anything. The Spoonboor dude basically says well the vote swung 6.7%, SmarTech had the capability to do it, therefore they did it. This is not the same thing as evidence that they did it. Did I miss a paragraph?

Pardon my ignorance in american political commentary, but isn't this tin-foil-hat-consipracy-grade crap "journalism" or am i on the whoosh side of things?

Also,

Three generations from now, when our great-grandchildren are sitting barefoot in their shanties and wondering how in the hell America turned from the high-point of civilization to a third-world banana republic [...]

Heh, talk about exaggerating. Colorful, though.

I don't know about you guys, but Benzinga.com is my one stop shop for pictures of Karl Rove looking guilty AND non fact based journalism.

Daily Kos seem to be calling conspiracy theory on this.

I have little doubt the Republicans stole both the 2000 and the 2004 elections, but it's admittedly just one of my many conspiracy theories. It sounds right, even though I have no smoking gun to point to.

John Kerry did a pretty good job losing the election all by himself.

Yeah, I'm fairly certain that fraud definitely happened in Ohio, but the article is pretty much crap. The tech jargon is especially laughable. Also, I remain unconvinced that Kerry would have been that much better of a choice. As I said back then, a ballot entry marked "NOT BUSH" would have done better than Kerry.

Stolen election or no, putting a Man in the Middle on purpose, with no accountability, is at least a case for criminal negligence.

Benzinga.com? I'm going to hold off until we get confirmation from Alex Jones or possibly NaturalNews.

I still remember that election night very clearly. I was in Copley Square in Boston and it was raining. There was a huge crowd just milling around wanting to know what was going on, and around midnight or so, they finally sent someone out saying basically, "watch the news to find out what happens" which was received by the crowd with the same grace as "drink more ovaltine." That was a sad trip on the Red Line back to Cambridge.

If Kerry had selected Hillary as his running mate, it would have been all over. Edwards couldn't carry his home state - Hillary or Bob Graham could have delivered Arkansas/Florida, and swung more than one moderate red state blue. They would have solidifed things in places like Ohio with smart campaigning that woudl energize the base... these are seasoned and smart politicians who had a large and experienced organization behind them. Edwards looked good on TV. Sorta.

The 2000 election was the first one my boyfriend was able to vote in, and he voted in Ohio. I've never seen him get quite as angry as when he talks about what he sees as obvious voter fraud that disenfranchised predominantly black neighborhoods around Cleveland. Too bad this article is wacky ...

In an alternate universe, a Kerry administration starting in 2004, combined with Democratic control of congress in 2006 (which did happen), could have reduced commitments in Iraq/Afghanistan, drawn down the military budget, done a moderate health care reform, and reversed the Bush tax cuts, making huge progress in reducing the budget deficit.

On the other hand, the 2008 crash would then have happened on Kerry's watch, so re-election might have been tough.
