Time for a Constitutional Amendement against flag-eating! Call your member of Congress ASAP!

And with no tomato ketchup either, eech.

I just am flummoxed by this action. I don't know if the fevour is so high that people do this or if they are doing this because they have to do something.

Burning the flag and effigies I completely understand. Eating a flag makes me feel like Homer trying to understand tax law.

Btw, how is it *they* have a surplus of US flags and some people here cannot get any? How do you order a flag in an enemy state anyway? Didn't the regime get annoyed by this?

I'm just bracing for the protests that will, er, emerge over there in 1-2 hours. Props for creativity to the World's Best Demonstrators.

Mmm, fabric flags. I'm thinking that this meal may have more fiber than most of these people have had in a long time. Perhaps the "loosening up" that will inevitably follow may work to our advantage? Time will tell.

I'd like a McFlag, well-done, with a side of fries and a coke.

If they run out of flags let them eat shit.

Ok.

These people, THE BIG RELIGIOUS PARTIES in Pakistan. Dont sweat. We dont care what they say. During a general election in Pakistan, these religious parties do not get more than 3% of the national vote. Even that is a stretch. They have no say what so ever in legislation.

Seriously, these students !! are the people who have no other teaching than some illeterate self proclaimed "ULEMA" teaching them what some illeterate other ULEMA taught him.

Gone are the days when "Madrassa - school" was a place where you would be taught all kindes of science be it chemical, physical or biological along with the arts like painting, poetry, writing and also the teachings of faith. Madrassa was a place of enlightment.

The society has literally rejected these people. There tactics and hard line attitude is only a way to identify themselves. Those who go along with them are mostly students of regular schools or lazy office workers who just want a strike so they can get off from work.

No body takes them seriously in Pakistan, neither should they be given importance in the press because that will only give them reason to be more absurd.

Eating a flag. Come on.. what purpose and possible signal can that portray ?

How do I know all this. Lived there 12 years. Oh Yeah !

I think Dreama's on to something. What if we create a line of fiber-enriched flags, and ship them off to countries that hate us?

We do that, and then we enforce an embargo on all stomach-related drugs on said countries. No Maalox, tons of fiber, you do the math.

Well, what it was intended to portray is one thing. What it actually portrayed is another.

One of the frustrating things about this situation; it's not like WWII where we could just eat a Nazi flag or Japanese flag... International terrorism has no flag...Maybe we should be publicly devouring large pictures of Osama and Saddam? Would that put the fear in them?

i say that we should bake a cake... with, say, chocolate frosting, on devil's food mix... no no, wait, an ice cream cake, with french vanilla, and fudge, lots and lots of fudge...

and, you know, draw something that looks like osama bin laden on it. and eat it!

Hell, I laughed out loud at the thought of those wacky "illeterate" terrorists constipated with American Flags. Gives new meaning to the phrase "These colours don't run".

Can we infect them with smallpox first?

Now, now, Aaron. I think eating a flag is bad enough without the communicable disease. Besides, have you ever tasted red dye? Blech.

Who's talking red dye? Sounds like they now have mouths full of ash, urgh..

International terrorism has no flag...

This is a serious problem! Perhaps MeFi should sponsor a design contest so that we can provide them with an appropriate flag...for us to rally against properly.

anyone remember that simpsons episode when bart was called for trial in australia to have his butt kicked? If I can recall, two US soldiers ate an American flag from either end when the embassy was being surrounded by angry boot wielding ozzies.. Just a nice piece of Simpsons trivia for y'all.. =)

What would be on that flag? Hmm..
