Aaron Biber, 89-year old barber in Tottenham, had his shop wrecked by rioters. The page is sparse, but touching.

Wow 14,000 pounds ain't bad. Hopefully enough to get him up and running again.

Perhaps better suited on the (rather long) open thread?

(before this goes black) this looks like my old babershop in America, he closed because of crime and last week our video store, same reason. Keep cutting sir, and if the barbering community is anything like America, Mr. Biber shall reopen and if need be perhaps some folks looking out for him.

Yea but the whole point of the riots (in a BBC article yesterday) was to show "rich business owners we can do what we want."

Congrats to rioters on beating up an old man's income. Yea.

Awesome, tugs at the heartstrings. But jaded, cynical me always worries seeing something like this that it could end up being a scam (single post blogspot blog isn't exactly official-looking, ya know?). However, the Keep Aaron Cutting page at BBH labs gives a bit of a better feel.

In addition to being better suited for the open thread, this is a single-page "donate to this cause" site, which I'm pretty sure is frowned upon for FPPs.
