Ack. Sequence of still photos with stalking boogeyman coming at them slowly in the background. Flashbacks to Slender Man. Must now hide. Never sleep again. Never sleep again.

(Seriously, that's a cute set of photos, and very fun.)

Good thing they didn't hire Jen McKen I guess.

(let's hope the link stays up this time)

Not what I was expecting but cute. I don't think I've ever been that prepared, though. Maybe it's time to upgrade my personal weaponry.

That's not really a Save the Date Card, is it. I've seen this twice now and I would have appreciated a better description.

I guess they'll need to find a new officiant.

Hiring one who is able to turn undead would be a good start. So much for civil ceremonies.

A lot of fetishes are like that. If you're not into it, you're not into it. I've never understood the whole fishnet stocking thing, myself.

Thanks for posting! I shot this engagement session for my awesome friends Juliana & Ben.

It's a real set of engagement photos for a couple who sent this to all their friends as a save the date.

Which one was used for the save-the-date, I wonder? Unless you're saying they used all the photos in what must be the most expensive save the date of all time.

So much for civil ceremonies.

Well, a court house would probably have armed guards.

Anyway, any wedding with zombies is, almost by definition, an uncivil ceremony. Those guys are not polite. And they cut in line at the buffet.

These were posted yesterday. I'm on an iPhone, so I'm not going to link it, but yeah. Scroll down - it's a double post. Sorry.

Pre-internet it would have been fun (and expensive) to receive these, no explanation, one photo per day, until the "We survived our engagement, please save the date" on the last one.

The elephant in the room: why did she bring a shovel with her in the first place? My theory is that someone was getting buried on that picnic; luckily for the fiancee it was an errant zombie.

Clearly she was going to dig up a hidden cache of mid-range wine and nilla wafers.

There are a lot of zombies in that area; everyone carries a shovel for beheading/burying; it's just good manners.

From the FAQ ....

Q: What the hell was the photographer doing while these guys were being attacked by a zombie???

A: The photographer, Amanda Rynda, is also a zombie. Zombies are surprisingly value-for-money photographers.

I think the thing about this is that even if you're not into The Whole Zombie Thing, you can see how if two people can agree and decide on something silly and nerdy like this, they're like-minded and hopefully have the cutest little married life two nerds can have.

Hiring one who is able to turn undead would be a good start.

While any priest or minister can turn zombies, it's safer for all involved to get a more senior level cleric, bishop or higher say, to be sure their banishments are automatic. You don't want to get brains on Aunt Gladys' new summer frock just because some young pup fresh out of divinity school doesn't recall that the snuffing of the candle comes after the closing of the book.

I like how in that pic of them screaming, she looks scared, and he looks like "Zombie! You are ruining lunch!"

At first I thought that the zombie was not a zombie, but a drunk guy urinating.

I am a minister with extensive occult background* - I can marry you AND banish many forms of undead and/or demons. I am available also for exorcisms and baptisms.

I really am. However, I make no guarentees about banishments - magical thinking only works part of the time.

bonehead: There are several play options and variations which can have a surprising effect on turning ability. Would you be willing to hire a houngan, a Voodoo priest, in which case the zombie will presumably have the decency to put on a top hat and dance a little? What about turning the zombie into a traditional Chinese zombie/ghost and making a bride with a lot of zigzags so they can't turn?

Those guys are not polite. And they cut in line at the buffet.

I was a wedding rehearsal dinner and the groom's elderly Russian aunt, who used to be a sniper in WW II, cut in front of me in the buffet line. I did not object.

As a complete old-lady spoilsport, I imagine having this couple as friends would be a series of endless theme parties, like Nathan Lane's Modern Family character forces upon the others: “Seder-day Night Fever," "Oscar Wilde and Crazy" Brunch and “Studio 5-4th of July.”

Just exhausting. But I'm cranky. Forced zaniness gets on my nerves.
