Salon used to be my favorite news site on the web, but between the 'erotic photography' and their recent policy of constantly writing about sex while always making excuses for writing about sex give more and more creedence to OMM's observation about Salon writer Wagner James Au (in a response to his article about 'booth babes' at E3): Maybe Au's real problem is that E3 hasn't thought up a decent leftist euphemism for porn that won't taint the thrill of blood rushing to his penis by making him feel as if he's experiencing the unsophisticated boner of the common man. I wish that their quality of writing and reportage wasn't so obviously tied to the amount of venture capital they have left to burn through, but I remember Salon before the .com boom, and they were good then, with 1/100th the cash. Oh well.
