Tiananmen Square and labor protestorgets 11 years. Gets out of jail, complains that prison ruined his health, and gets another 10 years.

If I'm reading your comments correctly, you find an article illustrating how communist china is run like, well, a communist state, and, your first instinct is to find a snarky way to imply that America is somehow responsible?

Responsible no. Buying flags that symbolize freedom amongst other things from an oppressive country: ironic and sad - yes.

Its really just a comment on the last flag thread. So many rules on how to properly treat one yet you don't see any rules on how or where they can be manufactured. Granted, this belongs in that thread, but its important because:

Our trade along with WTO's acceptance of China is deplorable. I don't know if the world accepts China because it can provide products cheaply or the added bonus or its ability to crack down on any freedom-loving dissidents like Li especially in the realm of worker's unions.

"No, there's no problem at the plant, the dissents have been jailed."

"Great, I'll be expecting those flags (or whatever commodity) on Tuesday."
