any reasonable, caring human being would take a pay cut over letting someone lose their job.

but i guess reasonable, caring human beings don't get to own 2 BMWs.

CEO's are overpaid bloodsuckers. They are figureheads, and way long ago moved out of a position where they impact the day to day company funtions. As figureheads, they ought to "feel the pain" and get a cut.

What would really save money in these companies is not if the top executives cut their salary, but if they lowered their bonuses! It's the bonuses that total in the millions of dollars each quarter for all top executives combined in most companies. I think the base salary is just a drop in the bucket for them.

End of quarter is coming up and I am not even sure I will have my job by the end of it. But you can be assured that even in tough times, executive bonuses alone could save many jobs from being cut. :(

So would you also say that's a problem of, "Too many Rabbis and not enough Jews" or is it only Indians you're allowed to use in a stereotyping metaphor?

how is that racial stereotyping? what general statement, true or untrue, is being made here? what characteristics are being called into use in a stereotypical manner here?

personally, i take greater umbrage that it's "Chiefs" and not "Chieves."

and shouldn't that be 'too many rajas, not enough Indians' since Chief is usually used in reference to Native Americans and not the leaders of the people of India?

and while i'm at it, let's not call them 'Native Americans' anymore. 'native' carries the connotation of primative, and 'American' is, of course, named for that Vespucci guy. from now on, refer to us as "Descendants of the Pre-Columbian Populations of the Northern Portion of the Western Hemisphere," unless you're talking about someone from the southern portion, in which case, change "Northern" to "Southern."

Indicting the airline CEOs isn't fair at this moment. Although they have fired countless employees, I have heard that a byproduct of the federal airline bailout will be a $300,000 per year cap on CEO salaries.

Possibility an insensitive use of an old common expression on my part, but not meant a slur. And that i before e thing always gets me in trouble.
