"A gift in support of libraries, books, works, ideas..... Once upon a time there was a book and in the book was a nest and in the nest was an egg and in the egg was a dragon and in the dragon was a story....." Mysterious paper sculptures are appearing around Edinburgh.

A bit twee, but lovely all the same. I kind of hope this isn't some viral marketing thing, but I also don't care if it is. The world needs more stuff like this.

Maybe the artist isn't an Ian Rankin fan, though. Maybe he actually loathes him and is simply ostentatiously destroying every one of his books he can get his hands on.

I missed this the first time round, so thanks, mippy. Ordinarily, I am torn about carving up books for craft and such, but this is just so, so lovely and it makes me want to go write love letters to my libraries.
