Are we counting the Sea of Love?

I was so pissed off when they said they were going to redefine the boundaries of the Southern Ocean. I used to be able to sail around Cape Leeuwin from Augusta and suddenly BE SAILING IN A DIFFERENT OCEAN!!! And now it's all just going to be the Indian Ocean. No more sailing the great Southern Sea. No more immediate connection to Antarctica. No more zigzagging backwards and forwards across the border.. Friggin killjoys.

There is only one Billy Ocean, and I want him to get out of my dreams and get into my car.

Alls I knows is, I love reading Patrick O'Brian's descriptions of the Southern Ocean and the Roaring Forties. It's such a foreign landscape, it might as well be on a different planet.

It was fun when there were 11, but it felt like the jokes grew a little thin with 12 and 13.

This is actually interesting, especially the school of thought that there are three, the World Ocean, the Caspian Sea and the Black Sea.

Here is the line between two oceans (not).

Reddit says it a line of demarcation between a melting glacier and seawater. Different salinity/density, I think. Interesting comments here.
