Local Farmers Market Discriminates Against Transgendered Community

Transgender Discrimination. Last night I heard about a business owner in London Ontario being told that she could not have transgendered people running her booth at my local farmers market (Trails End Farmers Market). She was told that she could either replace these trans women or take her booth elsewhere (she pays for a booth and sets it up at a weekend market). Business was booming and there did not appear to be any problem with these individuals, but the management and owner said that it was a family-friendly place and they didn't want people like that in their facility. It was brought to the media's attention and now is making news headlines and a petition has been started. I can't believe, that in this day and age (in Canada!) this type of blatant discrimination still takes place. The Ontario Human Rights Commission says that one's gender identity is protected, but clearly this business owner doesn't think so. The owner of the market claims that it's an issue of 'what bathroom' would the transgendered folks use rather than discrimination. I don't think so.
