Cheech and Chong achieved cult status, and built a small empire in their heyday.

And now they're back for their next great adventure, their Magic Brownie Adventure*

*NOTE: not a real movie

It's like amusing, man, though that's seriously playing up to the man, man.

thanks acb, but I'm not part of an ad campaign, just trying to share some Friday morning fun.

Not a real movie, but a real advertisement.

The photo at the very bottom, in which Cheech and Chong are depicted pushing a wheelbarrow of brownies and towing a trolley with a homemade robot on it, through a fictional desert festival called Flaming Pole, is pretty damn funny.

Have Cheech and Chong never heard of flaxseed? You can get high and poop real good.

I grew up with Cheech and Chong - vinyl on the turntable, and the 8-tracks for the car. My parents were horrified but could not stop laughing. At one time I'm sure I could recite the whole "Wedding Album" from memory. Good times, yes.

I wonder how many Big Bambu albums still have the giant rolling paper with them.

I remember thinking, as a teenager, that they were kinda funny, but then I discovered the Firesign Theater, who, you know, blew 'em off the stage.

There's a great post to be made about Cheech and Chong, but this isn't it. Could have had so many different bits, videos...and I'm sure some "previously" stuff.

A promise of "more inside" that makes me click to find this link is obnoxious framing, too. Why not just put the whole post on the front page?

Mine!
Well...except for that one corner with a regular-sized piece cut out.

Cheech and Chong can claim 1/4 credit for creating Rae Dawn Chong, so they're OK in my book.

On the one hand, they've sold out to a damn brownie company and this is an ad campaign. On the other hand, it was actually rather funny (also, I'm drunk; there may be a connection there) and it included the Wilhelm Scream. So I'm not angry.

Once I built a railroad,
I made it run
I made it run against time
Once I built a railroad,
And now it's done
Brother, can you watch this extended commercial for brownies that's designed to look like a trailer for a movie but it's not?

Digital distribution aside, can you imagine that even being sold today? A (pro) drug-themed album with a giant rolling paper inside.

Yes, young people, such a thing actually once existed and was sold in stores IN AMERICA to minors.
