So today is "Guilt day" here at MeFi?

How big is my sackcloth-and-ashes foot print?

I did the thing and it just said that I have slaves, but does not indicate how many. Maybe I have to sign up.

I'm trying to take the survey, but it is not recognizing my Zip code, "Brooklyn, NY", or "USA" as a location. Buh?

That survey broke repeatedly while trying it and gave me no score at the end. Bah!

I'm also having problems with the website. I hope whoever made it didn't get paid for it.

That's what happened to me in Opera. That step worked in Firefox but it kept skipping steps in the navigation so I gave up.

I will hold off until the "Footprint Footprint" calculator arrives, to tell me how many footprint calculators exist to weigh the sins of my first-world existence.

Well, shoot. It was working fine when I posted. Maybe we killed it?
posted by ocherdraco at 12:36 PM on September 23, 2011

It only let me answer the odd-numbered questions and then tried to make me sign up to see my results, which, lolno.

I stopped because the utter neglect of user interface design in favor of cutsie graphic design made me want to punch my computer.

I can read, you fucking morons. I don't need your goddamn charming little pictures.

Zero slaves work for me. Next?

Boy if I had a few slaves working for me things would be different around here, I promise you that.

Doesn't work for me. I guess I'm off the hook!

It works perfectly in Chrome, yays!

I like the site design. I'd like it better if it worked for me. I'm still stuck on step 8.

Shouldn't this question really be posted to our People from MetaFilter on Fetlife group?

elizardbits, you don't actually have to sign up to see your score. It just asks you if you want to sign up before you see your score.

Though I admit, they word it really poorly.

Wait, are you trying to tell me that there are people in other countries with much lower standards of living than mine that produce the goods that I use and who are sometimes taken advantage of due to non-existent or unenforced fair labor laws??

MY GOD MAN, HAVE ONE OF MY SLAVES CALL THE PRESIDENT!

I have 57 slaves working for me. Do I win?

I actually gave up because the user interface sucks
posted by dave78981 at 12:42 PM on September 23, 2011

actually no, I lied, it just pretends to work perfectly in Chrome and then cruelly betrays you at the last minute.

Couldn't get the site to work for me- skipped questions, didn't show me my score.

They need to get them some slaves to fix that website. It's unintelligible, non-functional, and preachy. A trifecta!

Step 6 is just ridiculous. I can't set the allotments because adjusting one moves 4 others! And then I can't go to step 7!

I'm just glad for once I can feel morally superior about not flossing.

I tried this when it first came out yesterday, but it was stupidly slow and ultimately broken. I figured it was just getting hammered. Which is kind of odd, as it's supposed to be sponsored by the State Department, and the feds usually have server capacity out the wazoo, but what they hey.

So I tried it again today. Now the site is delightfully responsive, but just as broken as it was yesterday.

It tells me I have slaves working for me, but won't tell me how many, or for what. How am I supposed to calculate efficiency that way?

I can't get it to work in Chrome - it skipped a whole question and there's no way to go back (that I can see). I couldn't get the water one to work either, so fuck this.

Well, this is a clusterfuck. I'm going to ask the mods to delete.

let's have tea and cake and send the slaves off to the bathhouse instead.
posted by elizardbits at 12:54 PM on September 23, 2011

This is eye opening. Turns out, each of my slaves has a water footprint of 2,000 gallons per day.

Will my slaves add to my water footprint? What if I don't let them drink too much?

What is your relationship with electronic devices?

This is a really weirdly presented question. Despite me being a web developer, a video editor and a game fan who's on computers all the damn time, the image that matches me the most is "technophobe."
