Maybe people will finally see "Glitter" after all.More than 200 movie theatre companies will donate all ticket sales and concession revenues to the United Way and the Red Cross for all films shown Tuesday. After two weeks of dreadful box-office grosses and sour moods, maybe this will prime the pump.

After reading all the early reviews on this turkey, I was suspecting Maria Carey's "breakdown" was little more than a desperate publicity stunt.

Going to see this movie would be charity in more ways than one.

It's good to see this reaction from the theatre companies. The cynical amongst us might say that it's a publicity stunt, but I'm encouraged that competitors would band together, and do something for the families of the victims.

The New York Times ran a story a few days back about action films and violence called Good at Action Films. Maybe Too Good. Something to think about. It might be time to rewatch Shrek tomorrow night, which is still playing at my local movie theatre.

On a typical fall Tuesday, movie theaters pull in $5 million.
I'll end up hitting a flick tomorrow...

Maybe it won't hurt as bad when I pay $5 for that popcorn...
