You sure he's schizoid?

The picture showing his psychotic writing/drawing on a Jehova's Witnesses Bible looks like the stuff I used to write on me schoolbooks.. oh.. haha.. muhahaha..

you gotta take his word about his scizophrenia, though after going through a bout of major depression and mild delusions a few years ago, myself, I do recognize an internal fight happening with this guy that's absolutely hallmark of a serious condition. there's definitely something going on.

some of his writing borders on amazing, I think. and while I'm glad this was posted, I just hope that anyone who visits the site is respectful of his comments system.

paladin - sorry if I'm being anal, but it is erroneous to refer to a person is 'recovering' from scizophrenia. Its a chronic disease, something that is treatable, but regrettably not yet curable.

blackhole brain - so i guess that we should avoid AIDS blogs, because the net is full of whiny queers? or maybe scoff at parapalegic blogs, because nobody cares about the angry crips? but wait a second, those are ignorant stereotypes that nobody would stand for . . .

I want to know why is it such a big deal that the guy's schizophrenic??? That's my beef. To draw attention to that belittles whatever brilliance he possesses simply because our society does stereotype... and posts like the top in this thread pander right to that fact.

If I'm wrong, and if his writings are so great, then why not let them stand on their own, and post a link accordingly, i.e. "this guy is cool.. check it out" -- and let those who actually visit his site figure it out. Instead, what's posted above says "Look! Elephant Man can think! Read his weird thoughts here!!!" and it's just as demeaning.

The web is the great equalizer ONLY BECAUSE physical limitations, disease, religion, skin color, sexual orientation, and mental illness can all be set aside and forgotten... letting people share ideas freely --uninhibited by individual differences-- and without fear of prejudice. The web makes it okay to be *whatever* and still let your voice be heard.
