This must be the place.

There's no place like home. It's where we live, work and dream. It's our sanctuary and our refuge. We can love them or hate them. It can be just for the night or for the rest of our lives. But whoever we may be, we all have a place we call home. THIS MUST BE THE PLACE is a series of short films that explore the idea of home; what makes them, how they represent us, why we need them.

There are as yet only two films in the series. The first features Korean multimedia artist Chong Gon Byun and his Beorum Hill apartment.

The second features tintype photographer John Coffer and his log cabin in upstate New York.

THIS MUST BE THE PLACE is produced and directed by Ben Wu and David Usui, of Lost & Found Films.

Bonus pure fun Byun film, with more from inside his apartment, here. John Coffer previously, and a bit later.

One's home is like a delicious piece of pie you order in a restaurant on a country road one cozy evening - the best piece of pie you have ever eaten in your life - and can never find again. After you leave home, you may find yourself feeling homesick, even if you have a new home that has nicer wallpaper and a more efficient dishwasher than the home in which you grew up. ~Lemony Snicket

YouTube's blocked at work so I can't check, but if there's no Talking Heads playing anywhere I am going to be disappointed.

No Talking Heads and no Pet Shop Boys.

I call shenanigans.
