The Occupy movement, which is drawing increased attention from the authorities, has attracted the help of...Gabriel Bell.

An eerily familiar name to Star Trek: Deep Space Nine fans has surfaced in the recent protest movement—though alas, not in San Francisco but in Seattle. (Close enough. Maybe he'll move.)

Hey, and we were just talking about possible solutions to the country's economic problems...

....I don't think I understand the thrust of this post. Is there any connection between the legal advisor and the ST:DS9 character aside from "hey, they have the same name"?

We won't be impressed until Stringer Bell signs up.

Someone has the same name as a Star Trek character? Or the actor is a supporter?

The relevant thing about this is that the fictional Gabriel Bell from Star Trek has this on his bio:
During the riots, Bell was one of the residents who held a number of hostages in the District's Processing Center, and protected them from harm. During that time, Bell was able to gain access to the Interface, allowing hundreds of residents to transmit their stories to the outside world.
Sound familiar?
