... there are a few that don't have endings.
My personal fave is the bowling one where the guy gets the strike in the wrong lane. That's the kind of trick I could pull off.

I see it as a monkeys on typewriters kind of thing. With the Earth's population growing and the number of video recording devices out there increasing rapidly, you're bound to catch something awesome on video, but it's also increasingly likely that someone will get seriously hurt in the process. There will always be more garbage than epic wins and epic fails, though.

Seems like there's a few fakes in there, which kind of ruins it. The baseball catch is fake for sure, it's a Gillette ad.

I donno if the light sabers were photoshopped, but the ball shots all benefit enormously from editing.
There are many that require spectacular skill and/or guts of course, but I doubt any hold a candle to Ueli Steck free climbing the Eiger in 2h33m, which I presume gets the 3sec clip at 4m03.5.

Well, I disagree entirely with the premise. Half of those people are just doing backflips, and that's not what makes people awesome.
My friend Bob was awesome because he drove me to work that day my car broke down. My elderly neighbor, Mrs. McGuilgan, is totally awesome because she was willing to babysit on the day we wanted to go to the movies. Pete is an awesome human being because when I had to move that Ikea cabinet into the house he was like, "Dude, let me help you move that big box into your house." No questions asked. He just did that. Pete is awesome.
These are all awesome people, and they deserve their own YouTube video.
And Mrs. McGuilgan does do a mean backflip.

People are awesome at editing movie clips to make it look like they're awesome (or playing them backwards so it looks like they're solving rather than messing up a Rubix Cube)? The original People are Awesome is far better and true to its title (and its soundtrack won't make your ears bleed).

Actually, watching that again, it's got a fair bit of editing skullduggery in there too. Maybe I was thinking of this. Sorry. I get my "What the f*ck is he doing, he's not going to... oh my god he DID!" video compilations mixed up sometimes.

The full versions of some of these are astounding. For example, the skating ice diver. Not only amazing feats, but wonderful video too. His whole feed is great. I think he has appear on The Blue. The BMX rider (left as an exercise to the reader) is also astounding.
I am not so impressed by the trick shots. A couple are fake looking (the golf ones), and most are indeed just perseverance and a lot of takes. Still, some great stuff in there.

Fun to watch, but I rather wish the fellow/gal who edited these all together had included actual links to the original videos, without which the editor would've had nothing to do. Attribution, people, attribution!
I did recognized Danny Macaskill on the mountain bike there, though, and figure you should watch some of his amazing trials work in some rather lovely scenery.

About 1 minute in, I had the same observation as shakespeherian: all men. I spent the next three minutes looking for 1 woman and I didn't spot a single one.

Aw man. That was the only one that wasn't a standard thing parkouristas/soccer players/snowboarders/gymansts do, editing out the other 999 tries, or people jumping off of things.
