This is a 2 minute single link youtube video entitled Thanks, Smokey! . It has dancing, hoodies, surprises and I don't know why it is called 'Thanks, Smokey!'. God bless. (NSFW)

But how would Smokey the bear feel about this?

Smokey Bear. "The" is not his middle name.

Also...that German Sheppard doesn't look very German to me.

Hippybear: Eddy Arnold disagrees!

Uh, the answer to my own question would be no.

is "god bless" some kind of meme

Hey, don't forget the Outtakes Reel.

Also, based on what I know about law enforcement in Los Angeles County, I sincerely doubt that is a priority for the Sheriff's Department there. In fact, another short piece from the same filmmaker is much more representative of police attitudes.

And if you saw this other piece from the same filmmaker, the punchline of "Thanks Smokey!" would come as no surprise.

Now I know what this is about

Of course Eddy Arnold disagrees. He's wrong, but that's okay, a lot of people who disagree with truth are wrong.

I grew up not too far from where the living symbol of Smokey was recovered during the Capitan Gap fire in 1950, and was mildly obsessed with Smokey Bear during my childhood. (My interest in big furry men in uniforms continues to this day.) The inclusion of the "The" in the song is a true tragedy, although I understand how it's important for the rhythm of the melody. But his name, written into law by Congress in 1952, contains no "The", and it's worth knowing that for the next time you're on Jeopardy or whatever.)

Anyway, I fail to see how the video in this FPP illuminates the true puzzlement which is THIS particular sheep video.

hippybear's sheep video was a reply to this cow video.

And if you keep this up, I will keep finding other species to get involved (but NO CATS).

Thanks for the other vids, oneswellfoop. This Patrick Scott guy is actually a good director. Every shot in Thanks, Smokey! feels well placed, intelligent use sound and music, etc.

hippybear's sheep video was a reply to this cow video

Well, it's a reply insofar as two videos made by the same person can be in response to one another... cyriak has a myriad of videos on YouTube, many of them all more disturbing than the last.

(but NO CATS)

What? You haven't seen meow mix?

From what I remember of the story, Noah's arc was kind of a downward spiral.
