Osama talks to Bush over AIM. I'm kind of embarassed that I found this so funny.

Glib. Tactless. Over simplified... all of that. But not funny. At least not to me.

You should be embarassed. It is not funny. Check the onion for tasteful way of dealing with this.

Hey....relax yall, just have a happy meal!

I vote for funny.

If you didn't find it funny, close the window and move on. I thought it was a hoot.

I dunno. I got a few chuckles out of it, but it could have been so much better! Nice concept, poorly executed, IMO.

It didn't quite make me chuckle, but then very little related to the events in question have given me much cause for amusement other than that photo of the cat with the new issue of TIME.

Y'know, I'm pretty sure this isn't real....

Am I crazy, or is it absurd that Osama Bin Laden is portrayed as been extremely rational and reasonable?

Theory: the more time you've spent actually engaged in Internet chat, the funnier this will seem to you...

Myself, I think it's hysterical. :D Thanks for the smile, ooka.

Well, I guess you are crazy. The guy spent years running successful businesses, and organizing his political connections. It's not like he's been sitting in a cave, gibbering wildly, in urine-soaked clothes.

He's a powerful, rich guy who managed to become more powerful and rich. Given his preconceptions about Saudi Arabia and the US, his actions have always been rational and reasonable.

i'm still giggling.

It's absurd and funny, but easy targets like AOLers make for cheap laughs. The Onion earns 'em.

It's soooo AOL, it's scary.

hmm... American Osama bin Laden....nah.

chuckle worthy

Sapphireblue is right, the more time you've spent chatting, the funnier this gets. Especially if it wasn't IRC. Especially if it was with high school kids.

this was hysterical, if somewhat historically inaccurate. unless i'm wrong, didn't the US also give money and arms to Bin Laden and the Taliban, not just to other countries?

This is funny because it's so many people really have conversations like that.

And that really isn't so funny.

I hate the internet sometimes LOLOL!! ugh.

I thought it was funny as well, but I suppose I havn't been as affected by the events as other people.

As for the Onion, it was a good issue, but far to 'tasteful' to be really funny.
