Find A Grave is a searchable database of 2.8 million grave records. Many records include photos, especially the famous graves. They include the good, the bad, and the ugly. The award for most famous graves in one photo might be this one.

I didn't mean to be macabre or flip with this post, but I found seeing these gravesites somehow made me feel more aware of my own mortality. No matter how rich or famous one may become, you will inevitably die. Unless, of course, you believe the rumor about Walt Disney that would make this a hoax.

For some reason, I haven't been able to find Mr. Twister or Raspberry in the database yet.

They dispose of people that way? It looks like a shitty garage.

"Oh, look, Sarah-Emily-Madison-Elizabeth, there's Truman Capote's drawer."

"Who's Truman Composty?"

"Oh, before you were born he was a funny little gay man on the talk shows."

This is a double post. No, it's a triple post. Did you even bother to search?

"Well, no, not in the happy sense, Sarah-Emily-Madison-Elizabeth. But it was rumored that he was, you know, homosexual. I mean, he liked men. Imagine! Crazy world! Men liking men! And so many single women around."

i live by greenwood cemetary in brooklyn, which sports some of the neatest grave sites, and some of the ugliest. especially the ones which try to cover all of the bases by including christian, jewish and egyptian obelisks and statues over the same grave.

which begs the question, are there any satanic graves out there?

Closest I've found so far. No headstone photo though. That sucks.

I love findagrave.com! Last Valentine's Day my American Lit professor told us all to visit findagrave.com and be reminded that everything we love must one day die and all that. That was just so... so him. :) It made my (otherwise miserable) day. That, and Tori reminding me Valentine's Day was really just the eve of Cheap Candy Day.
