I looked at the rest of Mikala Bierma's stuff on her tumblr and was unsure if she meant to be insanely massively annoying in a faux-humorous way or was trying to be humorous and was just missing and falling into a pit of insanely, massively annoying by accident.
Is the "uncastable" designation supposed to be ironic? posted by DU at 10:36 AM on November 16, 2011
I guess we are supposed to sympathize with the actor, so yes, ironic.
Also, "it scans pdfs wirelessly, which is SO Beyonce!" posted by DU at 10:39 AM on November 16, 2011
Uncastable didn't quite do it for me, but Disappointing Gay Best Friend is hilarious. posted by roll truck roll at 10:46 AM on November 16, 2011
I like the part at the where the female off-camera voive keeps pressing Bobby Finger on what crime he would commit and he finally says: "murder?" posted by longsleeves at 10:47 AM on November 16, 2011 [1 favorite]
Also, in case it didn't come through: I loved uncastable. I wish there were more. And I'd like some behind-the-scenes. I guess the unseen casting agents must be improving their critiques and requests? posted by DU at 10:48 AM on November 16, 2011
Can you try it without the wig?
This isn't a wig.
No way.
If this is real, I'm amazed more casting agents (or whatever the fuck those... gits are called) don't end up with their heads caved in. posted by Decani at 2:21 PM on November 16, 2011

Was this directed by Aaron Sorkin? The dialog had the rhythm of Josh and Toby arguing on the West Wing. posted by bitdamaged at 2:53 PM on November 16, 2011
I would have sworn this was a gag, until I participated in a commercial filmed in our facility last month. The "Director" asked me a bunch of questions I hadn't been prepped for, then gave me directions almost exactly like these. "OK, that's good, but give me more ACTION WORDS!" "No, not a visible smile, just give me the IDEA of a smile, like you just thought of something brilliant". What they ended up using was me incredulously saying "Oh wow!" in a moment I didn't even know they were filming, in reaction to a question so ridiculous, I didn't even know how to respond to it. posted by KGMoney at 2:58 PM on November 16, 2011 [2 favorites]
I found her 'Disappointing Gay Best Friend' yt series
I am certain that Tyler-friend will *snap*, any episode now!! Amusing series - he does the simmer well.
Tyler Coates, the gay friend in DGF could be a doppelganger for Jesse Tyler Ferguson, one of the ensemble actors from Modern Family. posted by seawallrunner at 4:05 PM on November 16, 2011
The way he flicks his eyes at the camera is priceless. It reminds me of April in Parks and Recreation. posted by winna at 4:54 PM on November 16, 2011
Hm. I wonder if it is real. All 3 of these people are googleable, and appear to be real actors. posted by schmod at 9:09 PM on November 16, 2011
holy shit that was funny. It seems that these actors weren't prepped at all, or they're really good actors and deserve to get a lot more work. posted by rattleandhum at 7:07 AM on November 17, 2011
It is not "real," i.e. the casting agents are actors too.
they're really good actors and deserve to get a lot more work
Don't they all. ;) posted by mrgrimm at 7:40 AM on November 17, 2011
Wow, her other stuff is also hilarious. Starting every Tech n Style video with "Sorry I haven't vlogged in awhile..." even if they're posted back to back... genius. posted by odinsdream at 11:55 AM on November 17, 2011
