I enjoy watching the shorts and trying to isolate the places where the studio is trying to push their boundaries. Despite the fact that, on the surface, they're these delightful little bite-sized pieces of Pixar goodness, you can see where they've used the shorts as a testing ground in different techniques and technologies. posted by lekvar at 4:49 PM on December 8, 2011 [1 favorite]
Pixar’s next short film La Luna
I'm gonna go ahead and assume it's based on the 1979 Bertolucci original.
Of course, what with this being a short film and all, they'll probably go with slightly less junkie incest. posted by Sys Rq at 5:06 PM on December 8, 2011 [1 favorite]

Figure per scene? Oh, right. Frames. But those come after the modeling and rendering of characters and such. posted by filthy light thief at 6:45 PM on December 8, 2011
Sometimes I think I would give up everything to go work at Pixar. There's lots of surface articles, but so few that go in depth the way this one did. The sketches for this are gorgeous. The rendered version, heartbreakingly stunning. Thank you for this. posted by Brainy at 8:26 PM on December 8, 2011
