Ding! Furniture stripping. Rock drills. Herbs. Die casting. Dumbwaiters. Conductive shoes. Vanity cases. Civil engineers. If it's out there, it's in here. [MLYT]

If you watched television in the northeastern US in the late 1980s, you probably remember the NYNEX Yellow Pages ads by California ad agency Chiat/Day. In a frenetic market, the spots were praised for using humor and "pure-concept, minimalist stuff" to capture consumers' attention.

p.s. I couldn't find the "Fishing tackle" ad I remember. Can anyone else come up with a link?

During the LA Olympics, Chiat/Day shared an office building with some Olympics mucky-mucks, who imposed very tough security measures. So Chiat/Day had to give their employees special ID badges, like this. [Longer story]

NYNEX! There's a name from the past. I wasn't in the area when those commercials aired, though. Thanks for this!
