Remember those "let's all chip in" posters from WWII? Of course you don't. Well, we're starting to see updates for the Present Situation. Don't sell fertilizer to swarthy males! (Ann Coulter's words, not mine)

To be fair, the link makes no reference to ethnic profiling.

1. I do remember those posters. I am an old fart.
2. recall that it was the GOP after Oklahoma bombing that voted against putting tracer stuff in fertilizers to be able to track terrorists...the Dems wanted it but got outvoted.

A pretty responsible poster that does not at all suggest that fertilizer suppliers watch who they sell to, but instead make sure that their product is secure.

Good for them; hell, I'm proud of everyone in industry and law enforcement and government who has stood up for diversity and has made sensible suggestions.

A link to Ann Coulter's disgusting "all terrorists are Muslim" article would have been good here.

Reminds me of the "how to dispose of a letterbomb" posters that used to hang on the walls of British defence establishments ... except I could never work out how you would even know it was a letter bomb in the first place.

Presumably ammonium nitrate fertilisers are clearly labelled as such 'tho ...

"Criminal purposes". Could the poster be more euphemistic? Jeez. Plain-spokenness is dead.

My father-in-law has some of these in his house. My favorite slogan from luser's link: "When You Ride Alone You Ride With Hitler!" This should be a modern carpooling slogan. That would get attention on "Spare the Air" days.

i'm partial to the parody "when you're downloading mp3s -- you're downloading communism!"

By far the funniest posters are from real life. This is my favorite one from an actual WPA poster from the 1920's.

Pretty much says it all

Nitpicking: the WPA started in 1935.

Great poster, plemelj; thanks for the link.

Hey no problem about the time, either way, I am sure glad that syphilis has been curable for the last 66 years.
