The dog and hydrant seemed out of place and tone. Is it canon?

I'd like to build some of these - still no snow, though.

Charming. Love the lighting. Nothing like a good miniature.

I don't know what it is about my childhood love of Calvin and Hobbes.. I so deeply respected Watterson's position. Any representation of Calvin and Hobbes that didn't come from Watterson's hand simply does not count. What's the sense? Just open up one of the books. This is not Calvin and Hobbes. As much as I'd love to appreciate it I simply can't. It's sort of like Kermit with the fake voice. Am I alone on this?

No, there's nine people who agree with you on YouTube...

That being said, this is a tribute, and a rather lovely one as well. It doesn't pretend to be the genuine article.

This is so incredibly nostalgia-inducing for me. Great stuff!

The YouTube page links to a bit of a "how they did it."

Just sent this to my whole family.

When I was overseas for a year, my dad cut Calvin and Hobbes out of the paper everyday, dated them, and posted them to me.

I saw this a few days ago -- it was done so well and a great video to pay homage to Watterson.
