Yay! A bit of goofball Venture-tastic holiday cheer. ... for some values of "cheer".

:) (although "Fairytale of New York" is still guaranteed to make me cry even when performed by The Monarch and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch)

And the "thanks God!" bit in Venture Aid makes me laugh every time, and I subconsciously insert it into the "real" version of that song now.

Also "Come in David Bowie!".

*Spoiler* I don't know why, but I don't like it when the Monarch and Dr. Mrs. The Monarch fight. I'm glad they made up.

I'm a bit unsettled by how heartwarming I found this, but then I have always had a soft spot for Dr. Mrs. The Monarch.

Dr. Mrs. The Monarch is really one of the emotional cores of the Venture Bros, as well as one of the most emotionally healthy characters. (Which isn't saying a lot, but.)

I think it's been posted to the blue but I don't see it under the "VentureBros" tag, so I will risk redundancy by linking again: Todd Alcott does some fascinating analysis of episodes of the Venture Bros.

I prefer to call her "Dr. My Wife."

I'd call Venture Bros "the smartest show on the Cartoon Network" but that sounds a little backhanded. So I'll just say it's a wonderful and impressively deep series.

I was wondering if this would happen this year, thank you!

Yay! Thank you, I had been watching that site waiting for a new one!

I'm sure I've said this before, but one of the best - and largely unacknowledged - aspects of the Venture Bros version of "Fairytale of New York" is that the gender roles are reversed. The Monarch sings Kirsty MacColl's bits, and then-Dr.-Girlfriend sings Shane McGowan's.

Which is delightful on so many levels, really.

The role reversal continues this year, too! Yay!

ErikaB, that's even true for "Little Drummer Boy", but I wouldn't have noticed it if you hadn't mentioned it. Thanks!

Thank goodness. I was looking for this year's song a couple of nights ago, and was quite beside myself when I could not find one. I can enjoy Christmas now.
