The title of the page alone is exhausting. Does anyone seriously read these, or is the function of a list-of-lists to save you from having to? posted by migurski at 9:46 PM on December 30, 2011 [1 favorite]
The internet....it's full of lists. posted by GavinR at 10:06 PM on December 30, 2011 [1 favorite]
My fave game of the year: Dark Souls blew away everything, everything (yes, Skyrim, I'm looking at you) this year. I cannot say enough good things about this one, and the much-hyped difficulty is at the bottom of the list of interesting things to discuss about it. My favorite of ALL things this year, really.
My fave movie of the year: Drive had atmosphere, intelligence, emotion, tension, violence, and a surprising empathy for introversion (my friend half-jokingly calls it Cars and the Real Girl.)
My fave album of the year: Julia Holter, Tragedy. I haven't lived and breathed and struggled inside of any other 2011 album like this one. It's aching, complex, challenging. The final track quietly, gently knifes me directly in the heart.
Other than that, general viral love for Why This Kolaveri Di and Rebecca Black ("Friday" is going to be fondly remembered more than any other pop culture artifact this year, I guarantee.) posted by naju at 12:37 AM on December 31, 2011 [1 favorite]
Oh, and worst things of the year, off the top of my head: Bon Iver, Fleet Foxes, "Pumped Up Kicks", brostep, Twilight, Duke Nukem Forever, Lulu, cliche hipster jokes, that Zooey Deschanel / Joseph Gordon-Levitt clip everyone is sharing, Herman Cain. posted by naju at 12:55 AM on December 31, 2011
Can it please be 2012. I'm tired of 2011 Best/Worst lists? Let's please retire the list form for the rest of the day. I'm just done... posted by Fizz at 5:16 AM on December 31, 2011
I was disappointed that each list was not on a separate page; it has left me with nothing to complain about... posted by GenjiandProust at 6:12 AM on December 31, 2011
