My Personal Sleep Disorder Study

DaVinci reportedly slept 15 minutes at a time, 4 times a day. That's a Polyphasic sleep pattern. After conducting an experiment where I slept whenever I want, I have discovered I have a 25 hour clock, what's known as a Non-24-hour sleep-wake syndrome (Non-24).
My entire life I have had a hard time falling asleep and a hard time waking up at normal hours. For many years, I've simply attributed this to insomnia and tried to deal with it by various over the counter methods (melatonin, diphenhydramine, Sleep-MD, etc.). Nothing really worked, I was always groggy until at least lunch, and no matter how hard I worked out physically, still had a hard time falling asleep.
Recently, I've engaged in an experiment where I just let it go, going to sleep whenever I felt like it and waking up whenever I want to. I have discovered that I have a 25-hour a day natural schedule. In other words, I wake up about an hour later every day, as demonstrated in this chart (wake times indicated on a 24:00 clock time).
After doing some research, my self diagnosis indicates a condition called Delayed sleep-phase syndrome (DSPS), a circadian rhythm (natural clock) sleep disorder. More precisely, what's known as a Non-24-hour sleep-wake syndrome (Non-24). I guess this makes me a good candidate for the first manned mission to Mars (their days last 24 hours 37 minutes)!

Hmm.. When i wake and sleep as i need, i tend to find my sleep schedule shifting as time goes by. It's annoying when I'm basically up more at night than during the day as that's when things are mostly open around here. Didn't know there was a term for it.
