Teenager arrested in Houston for theft deported to Columbia under false identity.

"Detective C'mon Wingo has been a police officer for more than 20 years, and isn't easily surprised. But this case was different." In 2010, federal immigration agents deported then 14-year-old Jakadrien Turner to Columbia after the teen was arrested in Houston for theft and then gave as her name that of an illegal Columbian immigrant wanted on international warrants.

Dang it, Columbia is the capital of South Carolina, a university in New York, a very large river in the Pacific Northwest, even the federal capital of the United States, but it's not a country. ColOmbia is the nation in South America whither this poor girl has been wrongfully deported.

According to Google, Detective Wingo was on The First 48, and her name was pronounced as one would "Simone". (This is not what came to mind for me. But she's a detective in Dallas, which means she can be armed all the time, so I am not going to make fun of her name.)

This is bizarre as hell - no passport? Obviously a teenaged girl? But I keep coming back to wondering how you can be on Facebook but unable to call or email home.

Anyway, why did the teen in this case give a fake name? Why did she give that particular name? There's more to this story, and I'd love to hear it. Can Ms. Wingo be played by Frances McDermott, though?

unable to call or email home - Assuming that this teen protested her "deportation" or tried to contact her family in Texas could be a mistake.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement said it is investigating this case and takes it very seriously. The agency said it attempted to verify Jakadrien's identity before she was deported and found nothing that would make them doubt the fake name and age she had provided to authorities.


The only reason they even claim to take it seriously is because it's in the news. It's nothing new for ICE to deport kids. They do it all the time. That's how this one "slipped through the cracks". Because it was so not-unusual for a teen to be getting deported they didn't do anything other than a quick routine check, which of course, turns up nothing. Because the only data in it is for deporting people. There isn't data that says "Wait! stop! don't deport this one!"

What a bunch of shit for brains assholes.
