Not only is this the best thing I've seen all year, this is likely to be the best thing I will see all year. Thank you.

oh my... Time to update all my album art in iTunes.

I don't know which is more offensive - some of the things they consider classic albums (or at least classic album covers) or the atrocities they've committed to the rest of them.

These are awesome.

This one is kinda cheating as that clip art is clearly a knockoff off the Warhol print used for the cover of the album.

Also, I don't mean to be a hipster music snob (I AM LYING I AM SO LYING) but Mayhem's Grand Declaration of War is absolutely no one's idea of a classic album or album cover or anything more than a post-script in their career, really.

I hope he does my request for "In the Court of the Crimson King"

I was all set to hate this, or at least glance and move on, but I enjoyed it. That NWA one is great. Also love U2's War.

I love the Hole one

Classic Album Covers in Clipart and Comic Sans

You're reading this wrong unless you realize that THESE are the classic album covers, not what they're based on.

Also, ha ha ha, from the FAQ:

Will you do Sergeant Pepper?

No.

The Sex Pistols cover doesn't change much.

Comic Sans might actually be less ugly than the font on the cover of London Calling.

chairmanroflmao: "Comic Sans might actually be less ugly than the font on the cover of London Calling"

Blame Elvis Presley.

Velvet Underground & Nico is just adorable!

I'm mostly "meh" about these, but the one for Nevermind is kind of awesome. And, for some reason, the Beatle's White Album seems brilliant. Either that or really, really lazy.

Prodigy's The Fat of the Land made me smirk at the thought of a sunny, steel drum rendition of Smack My Bitch Up or Firestarter. And to refresh my memory, I had to look up the original cover and realized it still doesn't match the content.
“I loved this cover,” Howlett is quoted as saying, “because I thought the picture had real attitude. It looks like the crab is saying, ’This is my beach.’
Yes, real attitude.

I was all set to hate on this, and then I got to Mayhem's "Grand Declaration of War". Well done.

So, if you use a shitty font and shitty clip-art, your cover will look stupid?

Zonoscope is classic now?
posted by blucevalo at 11:56 AM on January 10, 2012

I totally laughed at the Cradle of Filth cover. The clip art version of Lady Bathory, famous for bathing in the blood of virgins in pursuit of eternal youth, is hilarious.

In what demented universe is "Cut/Copy" either a classic album or a classic album cover?

"London Calling" made me LOL.

Cut/Copy is the band. Their album is Zonoscope, with cover art by Tsunehisa Kimura.

I was smiling and amused until I got to Pet Sounds.

Then I lol'ed.

Oh SNAP, I'm crying here - New Day Rising intercepts the pass, Damaged runs the touchdown, and N.W.A. spikes the ball. I want to see AMMusic 1966.

You people had better just stop encouraging comic sans like this.

No love for Joy Division or Let It Bleed?

Seriously, these were surprisingly awesome.

The Sex Pistols cover doesn't change much.

Neither does Back in Black.

Yeah, lolz several times with these... so wrong it's so very right

The weirdest thing about this is realizing I'm not the only person who considered* dog man star a classic album.

*In my defense, I was a few years too young to "get it" when it came out.
