Horror and Heroism

It was 30 years ago today that Air Florida Flight 90 crashed into the 14th Street Bridge. The 737, improperly deiced, took off from Washington National Airport, carrying 74 passengers and five crew members at around 4:00 p.m., and never reached a higher altitude than 352 feet (107m). The jet was airborne for all of 30 seconds. It was a day of great tragedy and tremendous heroism.
