No one else bothered by the Imperial March followed by "That's the power of German engineering"?

nice, hippybear... I had to look that up and think... a hell of a thing to make me do at 1:39 am... but...I got it.

That's impossible! Even for a computer.

Yeah, it wasn't a slam on your mother, who brought up a fabulous person in the form of you, HuronBob. Just a pun.

Uhhm. German engineering. The Empire. Attempted extermination of the Jedi. I'm seeing something that isn't there, right?

got it, HippyBear... good puns and elusive references are part of the joy of the internet/humor/fun/late night conversation :)

The coordinated barking? Dogs are very trainable.

For example, OK Go's "White Knuckles" video. More interesting than that video is this "Behind the Scenes" version which show you what's going on off-camera (most interesting from the 7:00 mark).

It's pretty easy to train a dog to bark on command (I even trained my Corgi to "whisper" on command, which was considerably tougher) but it's all about the timing & pitch, which are...not so easy. A trained dog will bark within a second of your command. But within a 16th note at march tempo? That's a toughie.

(also 2bucksplus was referring to fired Star Wars' actor Colin Higgins' line from Episode IV, so there's that)

Even odder when you realize a number of them are dressed as characters from the franchise.

Damn, 'THIS IS DARTH' would have been better. If Metafilter charged micropayments for comment edits, it'd become richer than Google in a week.

Greyhound AT-AT is so damn cute, but I still wanted a snowspeeder chiwawa to run through it's legs and bring it down.

I'll be boiled in hog fat if I don't point out that it's a Whippet, not a Greyhound.

I can understand the "no" to star wars, Decani, but, dogs??? Really? I'm sending you a puppy.

Ten years from now Keith Schofield is going to decide the reissue of this ad needs some CGI cats wandering around.

ShutterBun: You mentioned a corgi and you now must show pictures. It's the internet law.

Notice that all the group shot sof the dogs are with a locked down, i.e., not moving, camera? Dead giveaway that the dogs are all shot separately. Then some clever editing, a dash of Autotune and finally quick composting (very easy matting) and viola! A very funny spot.

Here's hoping I'm eligible for some kind of speciel dispensation, as my Corgi is now a recent-vintage ex-terrestrial Corgi, so he does most of his photo/video shoots on the Rainbow Bridge these days.

(that being said, here's the little guy doing his best Imperial March face, along with his bruthafromanothamothah.)
