These tracks were as close to 1994 for each artist as I could find, based on releases listed on Discogs.com. Some of the generic names I couldn't match to a specific artist.

Also of note: Scootertechno.net has the lyrics wrong. That's Mijk van Dijk, not Mike van Dyk.

... and if you just want the ~20 year old videos: Scooter - Hyper Hyper | WestBam - Bam Bam | Marusha - It Takes Me Away | Sven Väth - L'Esperanza| Dj Paul Elstak - Rainbow In The Sky | Laurent Garnier - Astral Dreams

I never thought I'd see the day when there was a Scooter related fpp here. Is this heaven?

The Modeselecktor version of Hyper Hyper is pretty awesome. As is the whole Hands On Scooter album.

I also wish I'd been at this gig, to hear a cover of How Much Is the Fish.

It was actually the Modeselector version of Hyper Hyper that reminded me about this silly idea. I didn't know there was a cover album, too, thanks!

I've actually been thinking about making a bio/discography-post on Scooter for a while, they're so ridiculous. You have lyrics like "3AM! The Painted Cow! I am the jungilist soldier! The rocket launcher stops ya!, and then there are the covers of Billy Idol (White Wedding [live] and Rebel Yell [music video]). On the flip side, you have their cover of No Fate (which I just now learned was originally released with lyrics, though I prefer the instrumental mix).

Thanks for that Stens cover of How Much Is The Fish, from which I found this cover, by "Judy & The Fishtown Cowboys."

Most sets have moments where a segue gone bad makes you wince, even in an otherwise wonderful mix. Carl Cox is one of the few guys I've heard spin absolutely flawless sets, without even one of those moments, not once but twice. That is all.

The Scooter uncyclopedia page is worth a read too.

"Scooter are a group of German poets known for their extremely profound texts, often so deep and abstract that few people even have a clue about what they're yelling about."

Further on Scooter, back in 2008 they teamed up with Status Quo to do a jumpstyle version of "Whatever You Want". It was perfectly ridiculous and brilliant - Scooter - Jump That Rock.

Sadly, its been my experience in NY that no one has heard of Scooter. Appreciation of 90s Euro dance music is frustratingly low here. Which has been a shame because its not so easy to share zombie rave versions of massive Euro dance songs.

Here's a few picks of 90s/00s Euro dance:

Haddaway - What Is Love
Sash - Ecuador
Basshunter - Now You're Gone
N-trance - Set You Free

gotta love youtube and all the copyrighted music it has

Ooh, witch house version of 90s dance music? Thank you! (The mixtapes are still floating around, limit of 100 downloads be damned.)

And more! Special Edition Mixtape (vaguely gorey videos), Zombie R4VE (4th mixtape; NSFW images and videos) Zombie Rave 5 (generally SFW)

One last mix: Mater Suspiria Vision Sing a Zombie Rave X-Mas! (streaming only, just like ZR5)

I'm seeing Laurent Garnier in San Francisco *tonight*! Super rare to get this kind of stuff in the US.

There's a lot more European "dance" acts touring in the US. Heck, even sad goth-electro groups leave Germany and tour in the US (and that was 2004).

I went to see VNV Nation in NY last December. And they're back again in March, so I'll go again.

Scooter's tour with Off the Radar and Over the Top doesn't leave Europe though :-/

Comical how all those links you posted to the zombie rave mixtapes just showed up as visited links for me.
